Sotheby's launched Singapore's first sale of South
East Asian paintings with overwhelming responses
throughout Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.
Since then, Sotheby's has been offering sales of
South East Asian Paintings twice a year in

art auction house Christie's will stop its twice-a-year
sale of South-east Asian paintings in Singapore from next
year. The sales were held in March and October. The
sales will move to Hongkong, where Christie's holds two
Chinese art and jewellery sales a year in April and
October. But Christie's office in Singapore would still be
around, said Christie's Singapore business-development
