Changi
Chapel & Museum is a lasting testament to the
endurance and courage of World War II prisoners-of-war,
and highlights an important part of Singapore's war
history.
Located
in an open-air courtyard, Changi Chapel was first built by
the inmates of Changi and stands as a monument to those
who kept their faith and dignity in the face of seemingly
hopeless odds.
Through
a collection of photographs, drawings and personal items
donated by former prisoners-of-war and their families,
Changi Museum tells the story of over three years of
occupation and the imprisonment of more than 50,000
civilians and soldiers.
