Extension of Half-Hourly Parking
Arrangement at HDB/URA Car Parks with Night Parking Scheme |

From 1 Jan 2006, the half-hourly parking
arrangement at HDB and URA car parks with the Night Parking Scheme (NPS)
will be extended to 7.00am to provide greater flexibility to motorists. |

Motorists who park at these car parks
between 10.30pm and 7.00am can pay the half-hourly rate of $0.50 or a
flat rate of $2.00 depending on their parking needs. |

The NPS was implemented in HDB estates to
provide overnight parking facilities for motorists. |
|
Under the current NPS, motorists who park at
NPS car parks between 10.30pm and 7.00am can pay a flat rate of $2.00,
or $0.50 per half hour if they park between 10.30pm and 1.00am. |

In Sep 2005, HDB tried out on a pilot basis the
half-hourly parking charge for parking at its automated car parks between
1.00am and 7.00am. The pilot scheme was well received by motorists. As such,
HDB and URA have decided to extend from next year the half-hourly parking
arrangement at NPS car parks that are using the coupon parking system. |

To accommodate the new parking hours, a new
series of parking coupons will be on sale at URA Car Parks Division, HDB
Branch Offices and URA and HDB coupon sale agents from 15 Dec 2005. |

Motorists can continue to use the existing
series of $0.50, $1.00 and $2.00 Day coupons for parking from 7.00am to
1.00am. |
