Fueled by the love for singing & an impetus
to spread the joy of song, the Amadeus Choral Society, consisting of
individuals from all walks of life, was established in 1994. |
|
Over the years, Amadeus grew & achieved
sparkling recognition at numerous Singapore and international choral
platforms. |
|
Returning to the stage since their last
performance in 2004, Amadeus will present a concert repertoire spanning
a cappella & accompanied contemporary Asian songs, early baroque music
excerpts from Memba Jesu Nostri by Dietrich Buxtehude, as well
as traditional sacred music pieces such as Sicut Cervus by G.P.
da Palestrina, O Vos Omnes by T.L. Victoria, & Exsultate
Justi by Lodovico Viadana |
|
Highlighting the concert is the world
premier of Triptych, a three-movement Chinese
folk piece composed by renowned Singaporean composer Dr. Zechariah Goh
Toh Chai, recipient of the National Arts Council (NAC) Young Artist
Award 2003. |
|
Commissioned by Amadeus, with support from
the NAC, this piece of emotionally alluring & imagery-rich music is not
to be missed. |
|
Join Amadeus & their guest performers as
they unfold the triptych - a cross-cultural & timeless journey in music! |
