OBJECTIVES |
|
• To provide a performing platform for
young musicians |
|
• To develop and identify potential
music talents |
|
CATEGORIES |
|
• The Competition is divided into four
categories: |
|
Junior
Grade 1 每 3 |
|
Intermediate Grade 4 每 6 |
|
Senior
Grade 7 每 8 |
|
Open
Post Grade 8 |
|
|
• The Grade Classification is based on the
highest Practical Grade achieved by 2006. For example, participant who
has passed Practical Grade 6 in 2006, may enter the Intermediate or
higher Category. |

Semi-Finals 9 Jun ＆07 Sat, 9.30am,
Yamaha Music School (Thomson Plaza) Concert Salon |

Finals 10 Jun ＆07 Sun, 9.30am-12pm
(Junior & Intermediate), 2pm-5pm (Senior & Open), Yamaha Music
School (Thomson Plaza) Concert Salon |

REPERTORIE REQUIREMENTS & PERFORMANCE |
|
• Participants must prepare TWO
CONTRASTING pieces, one of which must be from the set pieces. |
|
• The full programme must not exceed
the following time limits: |
|
Junior 每 not
more than 4 minutes (1 set piece & 1 choice piece) |
|
Intermediate 每
not more than 6 minutes (1 set piece & 1 choice piece) |
|
Senior 每 not
more than 10 minutes (1 set piece & 1 choice piece) |
|
Open 每 not more
than 15 minutes (1 set piece & 1 choice piece) |
|
|
• All pieces must be performed from
memory. |
|
• Da capo and Dal segno signs should
be observed, however, other repeats should not be played. |
